Did you know you can book your appointment online?
Using online services makes it more convenient for people at our practice, as there’s no need to make a phone call or visit us. Computer, smartphone or tablet users can make or cancel an appointment at a time that suits them, even when the practice is closed.
If you are not already registered for GP online services please let a member of the practice team know you would like to use this service.
During open access clinic hours you can call into the centre to see a Doctor. Patients will be seen on a “first come, first served” basis, though you may not always be able to choose which Doctor you wish to see, this will depend on the number of other patients who are waiting to be seen.
Morning appointment sessions are also available for patients to book either on the day or up to 3 months in advance. We will always try to arrange for you to see the Doctor of your choice, if it is possible.
Seeing a Doctor
As long as you are a registered patient with us, you can either call into the Centre between 8.30am and 10.30am for the Open Access clinics, or make a morning appointment on the telephone from 8.30 am for the same day. We also have up to 18 appointments which are booked up to 3 months in advance between 0830 and 0930 each morning.
If you prefer to make an afternoon appointment, we will do what we can to give you an appointment on the day and time you request. But please remember your Doctors are very busy and this sometimes may not be possible. If you don’t need an appointment within two working days, you also have the option to book up to 6 weeks in advance. Telephone consultations are also available. If you are only available on a mobile phone you will be expected to ring the Practice at an agreed time.
If you wish to see a Doctor for HGV or taxi medicals, or if you think there are difficult or complicated issues to discuss, please make an appointment rather than attend the Open Surgery.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot keep your appointment. Many appointments are wasted every week because of this problem. Persistent failure to attend appointments will result in a warning letter and ultimately removal from the list. Sign up to our text messaging service so you don't forget your booked appointment - we send you a reminder the evening before.
We also help to train Medical students at the practice and they may be sitting in with Doctors in some clinics. There will be notices on display in the waiting room and you will be notified when you book in at reception. If you prefer not to have a student with you please notify the receptionist.
